Company Message

THE SUSSEX BRITISH MOTORCYCLE OWNERS CLUB was formed in May 1986 to cater for anyone owning or having an interest in British motorcycles and meets every Monday evening, except Bank Holidays, from 8pm to 10pm at the Clymping Village Hall on the A259 (50 yards from the Ford road roundabout). As part of the Clymping Sports and Social Club we enjoy use of the Village Hall facilities including the bar and a large car park with hard standing for motorcycles. We undertake regular runs and attend many shows as you can see from our annual calendar

So if you like to socialise with like minded people, ride motorcycles, restore them or just talk about them then this is the Club for you. Although the Club covers a lot of activities it is informal and at times, CHAOTIC!! Why not drop in to see us, we are a friendly bunch and visitors are very welcome and if you like what you see perhaps you’ll join us. Membership only costs £20 which includes your first year subscription

THIS MIGHT INTEREST  MEMBERS,WHO PREFER      PETROL WITH OUT ADDITIVES.

Below is the reply that I have just received from `local Fuels`. In a nut shell their fuel does NOT have the crap in it that messes’ up our old engines so will be of interest to our members.

We own the ex Texaco Oil Import Terminal at Shoreham West Sussex.  We keep in stock Petrol, Diesel, Gasoil, Marine Gasoil and Kerosene.  We do not put Bio products in any of our fuel grades.  We supply our own group of petrol stations based in East and West Sussex.  Currently these are all branded ‘Local Fuel’ but we are in the process of re branding all of petrol service stations as ‘POWER’. Power Petroleum Ltd is our company and only fuel branded ‘Local Fuel’ or ‘Power’ is guaranteed to have no FAME in diesel or bi- ethanol in unleaded.

Our nearest stations to Steyning is our Bolney Cross Service station on the A272 or Pulborough Service station on the A29  You can find more details on our websites:  www.local-fuel.co.uk and www.localfuel.co.uk

The benefits of our fuels are:

  1. More power and improved economy

  2. Do not corrode/erode fuel system components

  3. Do not cause fuel filter clogging

  4. Fuel is not hygroscopic, so stays good in your tanks

  5. There are too many other benefits to list here but the points below speak for themselves:

a)Can be used in light aircraft, unlike major branded or supermarket unleaded

b)Can be left in lawn mower, chain saw, historic vehicles tanks without the repeated need to drain and clean

c)Ideal for standby generators, both diesel and petrol.  Will reduce problems and servicing costs.

To avoid the Legal ‘Road transport fuels obligation’ which requires all oil companies to add a minimum of 4.75% bio to petrol and diesel, Local Fuel pays a pence per litre RTFO charge.  The down side for us is that it would be cheaper to add bio percentages as these are cheaper than the mineral fuel they replace.  For our part though we want to develop and run our business with clean fuels.  Despite this add on cost we remain highly competitive!
