ARUNDEL CASTLE  MOTORCYCLE SHOW

14th May 2017

With the gloomy start to the day weatherwise the opposite turned out to be the case with a day of glorious sunshine showing the Castle and the bikes at their best. Numbers were down on the day but the Club was well represented and BSAs supported by the Bantam 'boys'. Just 49 pre entered bikes and a miserly 10 further on the day due no doubt to the weather forecast and preponderance of fair weather bikers. The skiffle group did their best to confuse and terrorise the foreign visitors who were even further confused by Richard's Bantam with add ons. Dave struggled manfully in promoting his Tombola, even more confusion, and Bob in spite of his very best efforts we unsuccessful in winning the pink pig.

The poor weather outlook may have kept the numbers down and certainly the public numbers were poor for a weekend day but the vagaries of the English weather! Flowers were down as well as the 2.5 million tulips had flowered and gone again the weather the culprit. The Castle authorities roped off the entrance to the lower lawns so we were able to come and go suitably marshalled by our own team and we had a good day and so too said many of the departing riders.

OK if Blue is your colour and that Bantam hasn't moved since 2016!                   Not too bad a showing on the day.

Hey up!  Kettles boiling.                                                                                     Tune??  What tune?
